What this role does
You lead the product marketing team and the strategy for Databricks AI, covering Agent Bricks and the core machine learning products. The work is the narrative, enablement for sales and partners, and the plan for pipeline and developer adoption. Your manager is the senior director of product marketing.

What you would do
You own the marketing plan and coach the product marketers who report to you, so product, sales, and marketing can run it together. Product and engineering partner with you on each launch. Sales, partners, and demand generation get collateral, campaigns, and events that describe the same products.
An always-on plan is how you build mindshare, pipeline, and adoption. You pilot a new program when that plan misses a channel or an audience. At a conference or in a customer meeting, you tell a customer’s agentic AI success story so other buyers can see what the product did for them. You write for people who fund AI programs and for people who build them, including developers and AI engineers. San Francisco is the base. Databricks is also open to remote work elsewhere on the West Coast.
Why Databricks is hiring now
Databricks does not say why this director seat is open. This is our read. Agent Bricks has to make sense to the person funding an AI program and to the developer building on it. Separate campaigns for those two people leave sales and product describing different platforms. Over two quarters the test is one plan your team runs, pipeline you can attribute, and a customer story that is still true for a developer.
Who would do this well
Databricks asks for ten or more years of technical product marketing in enterprise software, including time leading a team. You need a working knowledge of AI and ML, and content you have written for developers and AI engineers. Bring sales enablement, campaigns, and an always-on plan that moved a funnel result. Include conference talks and customer meetings in the work you describe. A computer science or engineering degree, plus an MBA, is preferred.
How to prep tonight
Lay out the next quarter for Agent Bricks as a staffing plan. Name who on your team owns the developer story, who owns the sales asset, and which release you would not put a campaign behind. Write the two sentences you would say to a customer on stage, and the proof you would require before saying them.
Common questions
- Which products are in scope?
- Agent Bricks is the enterprise agent platform. You also own marketing for the core machine learning products.
- Who do you report to, and who reports to you?
- The senior director of product marketing is the manager. Product marketers report to you, and developing that team is part of the job.
- What should the plan produce?
- Pipeline, product adoption, and developer adoption, along with sales and partner enablement. Mindshare is part of the same plan.
