What this role does
You own Ramp’s vertical go-to-market, starting with construction and architecture and engineering, and with nonprofits and the public sector. You decide where Ramp invests, and you build the narrative that ties the products to how those buyers run finance. Pipeline, win rate, activation, adoption, and attach are the scorecard.
Your first mock interview is free (10 minutes). No card needed.
What you would do
Construction spend is managed by job and cost code. Nonprofits report by fund and grant. Public-sector buyers answer for taxpayer dollars. You partner with Product so those workflows become requirements, and you help separate table stakes from differentiators. You enable sales with plays, proof, competitive guidance, and demos that open on the industry problem rather than a product list.
Growth, Marketing, Partnerships, and Finance join Product and Sales in one readout on what moved, what stuck, and what changes next. The offer spans cards, expenses, accounts payable, procurement, banking, treasury, travel, and accounting automation, packaged for the jobs each vertical needs done. You also represent Ramp with customers, partners, and executives when the conversation is about how that industry runs finance. You write the playbook so the next vertical does not start from zero.
Why Ramp is hiring now
Ramp has not published a reason for the hire. This is our read. Ramp already sells into industries whose books do not look like a standard card program, and a generic story leaves those deals to a competitor who knows the workflow. Early proof is a market you chose, a narrative sellers can use, and a scorecard that moved. Campaigns and enablement support that. They do not define the role.
Who would do this well
Ramp asks for seven or more years in B2B marketing or another strategic go-to-market role, with a product or industry outcome you owned. Bring a roadmap you moved with customer and funnel evidence, and a decision you made from win rate, attach, or adoption. You also need deep familiarity with at least one of construction, architecture and engineering, accounting systems, nonprofits, public sector, or accounts payable. The role is based in New York, the headquarters, and San Francisco.
How to prep tonight
Pick either construction or nonprofits and the public sector. Write the narrative a seller and a product manager could both use, tied to one workflow those buyers already run. Include the scorecard you would watch next quarter, and one market you would not fund yet. Close with the product change you would request, and who you would test it with.
