Interview format
SambaNova does not publish an interview process, and no marketing specific account is available. The Glassdoor aggregate describes a recruiter screen, a technical phone screen, two to three further rounds and an HR round, across twenty two to thirty five days. Those reports are engineering weighted, so take it as the general company shape and nothing more.
What the company wants tells you more than the loop does. Technical product marketing sits inside an established marketing organization here, alongside communications, demand generation, marketing operations and digital. Product marketing already exists as a peer team, so you are joining a structure instead of building one.
Expect at least one round that tests whether you can hold an architecture conversation. The work runs on explaining memory bandwidth, interconnect, quantization, throughput and latency tradeoffs, and cost per token. Ask the recruiter early whether there is a demo or benchmarking exercise, because that is where this loop would put its weight.
Sample questions
6 questionsQ1
Nvidia is the default and CUDA is the moat. What does a non GPU architecture have to prove before a buyer will switch?
SambaNova runs a reconfigurable dataflow architecture positioned against GPUs. The technical buyer worries about porting effort and ecosystem risk more than peak numbers. Answer with migration cost, model coverage and the specific workloads where the architecture wins outright.
FrameworkDisplacement positioning (migration cost, ecosystem risk, workload specific proof)

Groq and Cerebras publish their own benchmarks and so do you. How do you make yours credible?
Cost per token and the throughput against latency tradeoff are the battleground in inference. Every vendor publishes numbers on favorable configurations and buyers have stopped believing them. They want methodology, reproducibility and a willingness to state where you lose.
FrameworkBenchmark marketing (methodology transparency, third party validation, honest boundaries)
Answer this one out loudQ3
The cloud, the stack and the managed offering all run on the same silicon. How do you package that so a buyer knows what to buy?
Three offerings on shared hardware can read as one product with three prices. SambaNova sells to enterprise and sovereign infrastructure buyers who need to settle the deployment model before anything else. Organize the portfolio by how the buyer consumes it and say what happens to the pricing page.
FrameworkPortfolio packaging (consumption model segmentation, naming, buyer decision tree)
Answer this one out loudQ4
A government ministry cannot use a public inference API. How do you build the sovereign and on premise narrative?
On premise and private inference is a large part of the motion, with heavy partner and field activity across EMEA and Asia. SambaNova staffs field and partner marketing inside those regions, which tells you how much weight sits there. Talk about data residency, control and the partner enablement that closes a regional deal.
FrameworkSovereign positioning (data residency, control narrative, partner enablement by region)
Answer this one out loudQ5
Agentic workloads mean multi turn and long running applications. How do you turn decode performance into a buying reason?
SambaNova claims decode advantages on exactly these workloads, and decode speed is invisible until you connect it to user experience and cost. This question tests translation, which is the core of the role. Get from memory bandwidth and interconnect to what an agent platform team feels in production.
FrameworkTechnical translation (architecture claim to workload impact to business outcome)
Answer this one out loudQ6
Infrastructure buyers distrust marketing claims by default. How do you build credibility with them?
SambaNova wants someone who can write technical messaging, build demos and hold benchmarking conversations. This audience reads documentation and runs its own tests. Show that you would ship artifacts they can verify, like reference architectures, reproducible demos and honest comparison tables.
FrameworkTechnical credibility (verifiable artifacts, developer and architect channels, proof over promise)

What they look for
SambaNova is blunt about the profile it wants. It describes the right person for this work as "not a pure marketer" but "a technical translator and builder." That framing should change who applies. If your strength is brand and narrative, this is a poor fit, because the work is benchmarks, demos and architecture conversations.
The experience range is three to eight years, and SambaNova counts technical product marketing, technical marketing engineering, solutions architecture, field applications engineering and developer marketing. Those adjacent paths qualify for a reason. Someone who ran a solutions team and wants to move into marketing has a strong shot here.
You will be asked to explain memory bandwidth, interconnect, quantization, the throughput and latency tradeoff, and cost per token. Defining those terms is the floor. What gets you the offer is connecting them to a buyer decision, so practice explaining each one to an infrastructure architect and then to a finance lead.
Insider tips
SambaNova already runs a structured marketing organization, which is unusual at this stage and changes the job. Product marketing exists as a peer team alongside communications, demand generation, marketing operations and digital. You are joining a machine, so ask how technical marketing and demand generation divide ownership of the content pipeline.
Build something before the loop. Demos and benchmarking discussions are core deliverables here, so run a model on a hosted inference service, measure the decode behavior on a multi turn task and write up what you found. Bringing that into a technical round does more than any deck.
Know the competitive field precisely. Nvidia, Groq, Cerebras, AMD and hyperscaler silicon each attack from a different angle, and the distinction between a training story and an inference story matters here. SambaNova sells full stack inference, so any answer that treats this as a chip comparison misses what the buyer is deciding.
