Interview format
Sierra does not publish an interview process for product marketing, so treat any stage list you find as unconfirmed. The company has published an AI-native interview format, but that post covers engineering hiring. It describes a system design phone screen and then an onsite built around Plan, Build and Review. The build round runs two hours and AI tools are allowed.
Sierra says the format extends past engineering without naming which roles. Read it as evidence of how the company hires, not as your loop. Glassdoor data pooled across titles points to a recruiter screen, a first round, an onsite case study and a senior leadership conversation. Call it 21 days end to end.
That sample mixes roles, so a case study is likely and not certain. Ask the recruiter to walk you through the stages on your first call. Prepare a case anyway. Sierra expects its product marketers to be comfortable with tools like ChatGPT and Claude, so have an answer ready about how you already use them.

6 questionsQ1
A competitor bundles its agent into a seat contract the buyer already signed. Sierra charges about $1.50 a resolution. Defend the model.
Outcome-based pricing only holds if the buyer compares total spend against total work done. This checks whether you can move a price comparison onto ground you choose without sounding defensive. Bring the arithmetic and a procurement story, because the person raising this objection sits in finance.
FrameworkValue-based pricing defense (unit economics, cost per resolved contact, procurement narrative)

You are the first product marketer on the industry team. Pick the vertical you build a playbook for first and defend the pick.
Industry marketing is a new team at Sierra, sitting beside the core PMM group, and the bar favors people who build structure where none exists. They want a choice with reasoning behind it, not a survey of the market. Use the customer roster, which includes Gap, SoFi, Rocket Mortgage and Sutter Health.
FrameworkVertical prioritization (deal evidence, regulatory friction, reference density, content reuse)

Decagon claims autonomous resolution. So does Sierra. Make the difference legible to a buyer on one slide.
When both companies claim the same outcome, differentiation has to come from something a buyer can verify. Look at deployment model, the Agent SDK, guardrails and published resolution rates. Trust language with no proof behind it will not survive the first follow-up question.
FrameworkCompetitive positioning (claim parity audit, proof point selection, verifiable differentiator)
Answer this one out loudQ4
Sierra is moving past customer support into other agent work. Write the narrative without weakening the support story that closes deals today.
Support is the wedge and the revenue. A platform story that buries it costs you the near-term pipeline, and a story that stays in support caps the valuation narrative. Show the sequencing and say which audiences hear which version first.
FrameworkCategory expansion messaging (anchor use case, adjacency map, narrative sequencing)
Answer this one out loudQ5
Sales is roughly 200 people and there is no public price list. Build the enablement so a new rep can run a pricing conversation in week two.
Enterprise deals here start near $150,000 a year with no self-serve path, so every price conversation runs through a human. They want to see how you design for ramp speed and how you would know the enablement worked. Name the asset, the moment it gets used and the metric you watch.
FrameworkEnablement design (rep ramp path, asset inventory, objection handling, adoption measurement)

Show us how you use ChatGPT or Claude inside your own product marketing work. Pick one workflow and walk through it.
Sierra screens for this directly, and the engineering interview post it published allows AI tools in the build round. A worked example beats an opinion. Pick competitive tracking or launch briefs, then describe the prompt, the check you run on the output and the time it saves.
FrameworkWorkflow walkthrough (task selection, prompt design, quality control, measured outcome)

What they look for
The bar is 5+ years of B2B product marketing plus the operational instinct to build structure where none exists. Sierra is around 700 employees with roughly $200M in ARR after a $950M Series E, and the industry PMM team is new. Nobody is handing you a template. Show that you have started a function before and can say what you built in what order.
Positioning has to turn into something sales can carry into a room. Abstract narrative work will not get you far here. Come with examples where your messaging became a deck, a one-pager or an objection handling doc, and where you can point at what changed in the pipeline afterward.
AI fluency is screened, not assumed. Sierra sells agents and expects you to use them. The bonus signals are vertical or persona marketing experience, which helps but is not required, so do not talk yourself out of applying if your background is horizontal.
Insider tips
Know the pricing model before you walk in. Sierra charges for outcomes at roughly $1.50 a resolution with contracts starting near $150,000 a year, and there is no public price list. Most of the hard positioning questions you will get trace back to that choice, so have a view on where it wins and where it makes procurement nervous.
There are two products and two audiences. The Agent SDK is TypeScript and speaks to engineers, and Agent Studio is no-code and speaks to operations teams. If you can explain how one message covers both without going vague, you are ahead of most people interviewing for this role.
Read the AI-native interview post, then treat it as culture research and not a study guide. Bringing it up shows you did the work. Assuming it is your loop makes you look like you skimmed. Ask the recruiter what the marketing process actually looks like and write the answer down.
Reading Sierra's questions is the easy part. Answering one out loud, cold, with a follow-up coming is the part that falls apart in the room. That's what Mokk trains.
