Interview format
Suno does not publish an interview process, and nothing public is specific to product marketing. Glassdoor pools a small, engineering-heavy sample and puts the average near 17 days. The reported shape is a recruiter screen, a hiring manager deep dive on past projects, an assessment, a call with the CEO and a final panel.
Positive sentiment in that sample sits at 22 percent, which is low, and the sample is too thin to lean on. Read it as a rough map of stages. The hiring manager round is the one to prepare hardest, because the reported pattern digs into what you owned and what went wrong.
Product marketing sits inside a growth organization here, alongside paid social, search, conversion, creative and community. Expect the assessment to look like a growth brief. Bring numbers on activation and early repeat usage, because that is the stretch of funnel this job owns.
Sample questions
6 questionsQ1
Free tier songs can no longer be used commercially. Market the free tier anyway.
The Warner settlement changed what a free account is worth, and the paywall now carries rights with it. This tests whether you can turn a restriction into a reason to upgrade without misleading anyone. Say how the message reads inside the product, not only in a launch post.
FrameworkFreemium repositioning (value ladder, upgrade trigger, in-product messaging, honesty check)
Answer this one out loudQ2
A bedroom producer and someone making a birthday song both use Suno. Write positioning that holds for both.
Scale comes from casual creators and credibility comes from musicians. Pick a primary audience and explain how the second one still sees itself in the message. Inclusive language that names nobody reads as avoidance, and this is exactly where Suno tests your consumer PMM judgment.
FrameworkSegment positioning (primary audience choice, shared value proposition, differentiated proof)
Answer this one out loudQ3
Warner has settled and signed. Universal, Sony and GEMA are still litigating. How do you message licensed models as a feature?
You would be marketing legitimacy while litigation is live. Overclaiming becomes a legal problem and underclaiming wastes the deal. They want a claim you could defend in front of counsel, so name what you would say and what you would leave out.
FrameworkConstrained claims messaging (defensible claim set, legal review loop, proof sourcing)
Answer this one out loudQ4
Artist backlash is a constant here. How does that change a launch plan you would otherwise run?
Treat it as a standing constraint and not a one-off crisis. Show how it changes sequencing, spokespeople and channel choice before launch day arrives. A plan that only kicks in after the criticism lands is the weaker answer.
FrameworkStakeholder-aware launch planning (audience mapping, pre-brief strategy, escalation triggers)
Answer this one out loudQ5
Mobile activation is the metric. Get a new user to a first song faster when the licensing wrapper adds friction.
The job covers acquisition, onboarding, first song and early repeat, so this is the core of the role. Name where you think the drop happens and what you would test. Onboarding copy, prompt scaffolding and account gating are all fair to bring up.
FrameworkActivation funnel teardown (drop-off diagnosis, test backlog, time-to-value metric)
Answer this one out loudQ6
Tell us about a launch you owned end to end that went badly. What was yours and what did you change after?
The reported hiring manager round digs into past projects and what went wrong, so prepare this one deliberately. Pick something with numbers attached and a decision you got wrong. The lesson should show up as a change you made on the next launch.
FrameworkSTAR method with explicit ownership boundaries and a follow-on change

What they look for
This is consumer product marketing and Suno makes no secret of it. The bar is five or more years of consumer work, end-to-end ownership of launches that mattered, and mobile app growth across acquisition and activation. B2B experience alone will be a hard sell against a pool that has shipped consumer apps at scale.
They want data and storytelling in the same person. Suno has more than 100M users and about 250 employees. A small team like that needs people who can read the funnel and then write something worth sharing. Bring one example of each and connect them.
Influence without authority shows up in the description because the growth organization is deep and you will not own most of the channels. Music passion is listed as nice to have, whether you produce, play or only listen. It is a tiebreaker and not a requirement, so be honest about where you sit.
Insider tips
Understand the settlement terms before you interview, because they reshape the product. Unlicensed-trained models are being deprecated, downloads are restricted to paid accounts with monthly caps, and free-tier songs cannot be used commercially. Every positioning question you get will sit on top of one of those changes.
Know the funding arc and what it implies. A $250M Series C at $2.45B in November 2025 was followed by a $400M raise in June 2026 above $5.4B. That pace means conversion and subscription revenue are under a bright light, so frame your activation answers as paths to paid.
Have a view on the competitive set. Udio, ElevenLabs Music, Stability and the label-native tools all sit in the frame, and the licensed catalog is the thing Suno can now say that some of them cannot. Use it as a positioning asset and stay precise about what it does and does not cover.
Reading Suno's questions is the easy part. Answering one out loud, cold, with a follow-up coming is the part that falls apart in the room. That's what Mokk trains.
