Interview format
Synthesia does not publish a stage list for product marketing. Aggregator data puts the process at about four stages across 17 to 30 days, with a 71.8 percent positive rating and difficulty just under three. That is the whole of the public record on shape, so treat it as an estimate.
One candidate report describes roughly four interviewers and two presentation portions, one of them a prompt where you build a deck and present it back. That report is not confirmed as a product marketing loop. It is plausible for these roles, because all three openings are senior and presentation heavy, so prepare a deck and hold the detail loosely.
The head of talent acquisition has spoken publicly about volume, roughly a thousand applications a week and 240 hires with a five-person recruiting team. Recruiters are specialized by function and feedback gets collected after each stage. Expect a tight process and a recruiter who knows what the role is.
Sample questions
6 questionsQ1
Synthesia is moving from watched video to interactive avatars. Reposition the company without stranding the Studio install base.
Studio is the product 90 percent of the Fortune 100 already bought, and interactive avatars are the strategic bet. This asks whether you can raise the ceiling of the story while the current customers still recognize themselves in it. Say which audiences hear the new frame first.
FrameworkPlatform repositioning (install base continuity, narrative arc, audience sequencing)
Answer this one out loudQ2
Build the developer go to market for the API from zero, inside a company whose muscle is enterprise sales.
The API role is a new motion beside a sales-led enterprise machine, and it wants someone hands-on with webhooks, endpoints and code samples. Describe the first three things you would ship and how you would measure them. Internal friction with the sales organization is part of the answer.
FrameworkDeveloper go to market (docs and sample strategy, community surface, activation metric, sales interlock)
Answer this one out loudQ3
General purpose video models are getting good and cheap. Defend a platform whose moat is enterprise trust and workflow.
Generation is the part that commoditizes. Compliance posture across SOC 2 Type II, ISO 42001 and GDPR, plus brand controls and approval workflow, is what a foundation model does not ship. They want to hear you make that trade concrete for a buyer who just saw a cheap demo.
FrameworkMoat articulation (commoditizing layer, durable layer, buyer risk framing, proof points)
Answer this one out loudQ4
Price interactive avatars. Consumption or seats, and who becomes the buyer once you choose?
Real-time conversation changes the cost curve and the value story at the same time. Pick a model and follow it through to the buyer, the budget and the sales motion. Answers that list the options without committing tend to lose the room.
FrameworkPricing model selection (cost driver mapping, value metric, buyer shift, packaging implications)
Answer this one out loudQ5
The Head of PMM description asks you to build and deploy agents. Show how you would automate competitive tracking and launch operations.
They screen for this explicitly, and Synthesia has a named competitive intelligence function you would work beside. Be concrete about the pipeline, the sources, the synthesis step and the human review. Enthusiasm about AI without a working example will not clear the bar.
FrameworkAgent workflow design (source ingestion, synthesis step, human review gate, time saved)
Answer this one out loudQ6
Describe a positioning call you made that senior people in the room disagreed with.
The description asks you to write with conviction and defend it in a room with skeptics. It also values shipping at sixty to seventy percent and then handing off, described as the difference between perfect and useful. Show both, a decision you held and something you released before it was finished.
FrameworkSTAR method with the disagreement, the evidence used and the handoff

What they look for
Synthesia has the strongest product marketing function of this group and the job descriptions read that way. The Head of PMM leads a team of five and wants 10+ years with 6+ in PMM leadership at B2B SaaS. The two Principal roles cover core and Studio, and the API, and all three sit in London.
Blank-slate ownership runs through all three descriptions. So does sales-cycle fluency and enablement people use. Be ready to name a piece of enablement you built, say who used it and say how you knew. The API role adds a hands-on bar, someone inside every new model the week it ships.
The agent requirement in the Head of PMM role is unusual and specific. They want someone who has automated parts of their own product marketing work across competitive tracking, research synthesis and launch operations. Come with the workflow, the tooling and what it changed about your week.
Insider tips
Do not pitch building a competitive intelligence function. Synthesia already has one, along with a market intelligence team that product marketing partners with. Come in with a view on how you would use both instead, because that is the question a hiring manager will be asking silently while you talk.
Prepare a deck even if nobody asks for one. The candidate report describes two presentation portions and a build-and-present prompt, and the roles are senior enough that a written artifact helps you either way. Pick the interactive avatar pivot as your subject and show your positioning work.
Know the business numbers. A $200M Series E brings total funding to $536M at a $4B valuation, and the company is past 900 employees. Self-serve entry sits alongside enterprise sales and the new developer motion. Three motions in one company is the operating context for whichever role you take.
Reading Synthesia's questions is the easy part. Answering one out loud, cold, with a follow-up coming is the part that falls apart in the room. That's what Mokk trains.
